Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to begin his overhaul of the club with a move for £60m-rated West Ham defender Issa Diop.
He has been a shining light in an otherwise difficult campaign for the Hammers and the club know the club need to stay up to stand any chance of keeping the centre-back.
Diop signed for the Hammers in a £22,5 million deal from Toulouse in 2018 and he drew praise from former United boss Jose Mourinho shortly after his arrival.
The Red Devils have since tracked Issa’s progress and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of the towering centre-half, who has grown in stature throughout his 18 months in England.
But the Red Devils were quoted a price of around £60m for Diop the previous summer and that figure could rise with Arsenal interested.
