‘Next Pires’ Arsenal suffer major blow in pursuit of £200,000-weekly 22-year-old target, player set to accept new deal at Man City

According to the Daily Star, Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling is set to be offered a new deal by the Etihad club, a development that will be a major blow for Premier League rivals Arsenal, who are believed to be keen on the winger.

The 22 year old joined Pep Guardiola’s team back in 2015 from Premier League rivals Liverpool, and has about three years remaining on his current £200,000-a-week contract at the Etihad Stadium, according to the Daily Star, with the Manchester club eager to stress how pivotal the player is in the plans of manager Pep Guardiola by offering him a new and improved contract.

The winger, who scored two goals in Manchester City’s recent victory against Crystal Palace, has been assured by the Etihad club that it is was Wenger’s team who insisted on taking the Englishman as part of the club’s deal for Chile international Alexis Sanchez, and not City willing to sell him, as per the Daily Star.

The same publication also writes that, as well as Raheem Sterling, Manchester City are prepared to offer new contracts to the trio of Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne, Spaniard David Silva, and Brazilian Gabriel Jesus.
