Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson admits that while he is just glad to be getting some minutes for Gunner’s senior team at the moment, he would like to feature regularly in a more advanced role in the nearest future.
Reiss Nelson made his first senior team start for the Gunners against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old starlet was deployed at wing-back and didn’t have the most pleasant match. Although nor did most of the players on parade since they only secured a narrow victory, 1-0 against their League One opponent.
While the England youngster insists that he’s only delighted to get selected, he also admits that he would prefer to play in a much more attacking role in the nearest future.
Fans are already predicting that the England youth international could become another Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was constantly played out of position during his six seasons at the Emirates Stadium he signed for rivals Liverpool for £35million this summer.
Reiss Nelson did pretty well during pre-season and has netted an outstanding six Premier League 2 goals in 5 matches so far this season playing in a more advanced role for the youth side, either as a wing forward or attacking midfielder.
