Defender Marc Bola was exceptionally brilliant against Blackpool, Lucas Perez played against Spanish side Espanyol and Kelechi Nwakali, Mavididi and Asano came from the bench for their loan teams.
Youngster Marc Bola continues to develop rapidly. The full-back has now featured in three full games in a week for Bristol Rovers, most recently playing at right-back, a more strange role for the 19-year-old defender his preferred left-back role.
Notwithstanding, he played well as Bristol Rovers defeated Blackpool 3-1. Bristol fans seemed delighted with his contribution in the match, with Marc Bola winning man-of-the-match.
Meanwhile, Spain international Lucas Perez played the entire duration in Deportivo’s away match at Espanyol. It ended poorly as Deportivo lost 4-1, with Perez not involved in the goal.
Nigerian Kelechi Nwakali, Stephy Mavididi, and Asian Takuma Asano all came from the bench for their respective teams, and all three games ended in draws.
Asano’s German Bundesliga side Stuttgart and Mavididi’s Preston North End drew goalless to Ausburg and Millwall respectively. Meanwhile, Kelechi Nwakali and VVV-Venlo secured their third consecutive 1-1 draw to PEC Zwolle.
Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson missed out for Birmingham City, through injury. Joel Campbell is also expected to do the same for Spanish side Real Betis as he’s still recuperating.
