Arsenal are keen to beat rivals Manchester United to the signature of Benfica attacker Andrija Zivkovic, as per a report in Portuguese publication O Jogo.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was interested in signing the winger before he joined Portuguese side Benfica from Partisan Belgrade and he’s told his scouts to keep a close watch on the player in Portugal.
O Jogo report that the Gunners has scouts closely watching the 21-year-old winger at the weekend as Benfica defeated Feirense by 2 goals.
Premier League giants Man United are also interested in signing the Serbian international but the Gunners are keen to beat them to his signing.
The North London giants will hope to win the UEFA Europa League this season to ensure that they are playing UEFA Champions League football during the next season and as such, hand themselves a better opportunity of recruiting big-name players.
Zivkovic joined Benfica to take a step up in his playing career and a transfer to the Emirates would be another step further up the football ladder, if a transfer deal can be done.
