Arsenal Star Player: “We’re disappointed”

Arsetalks brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal failed to reach the summit of the League table despite Manchester City City dropping points at the weekend. The 1-1 draw against Tottenham pegged us down, leaving Liverpool to become the new league leaders for the first time this season.

A major talking point at the Spurs game was the penalty handed to the Maurichio Pochettino’s men. That was a defining moment, and Arsenal failed to rally themselves after they levelled up.

Wenger has said that bit was painful to see us drop points, and it appears he is not alone in this. This time Pert Cech, who failed to save the penal kick by Harry Kane, has made an official statement via Arsenal player.

on the game…
We’re disappointed to have only got one point because we were 1-0 up and in a good position at half-time, so it gave us the opportunity to go into the second half and use it to our advantage. The early equaliser in the second half changed the momentum of the game. They played with more confidence in the second half and we lost the rhythm a little bit after they equalised. We came back into it but we were too late. We are disappointed to have dropped two points.

on getting used to Spurs’ system…
We found the openings. They pressed really well at the start so we had to play simpler football than normal. Then we found openings, we found space and we had confidence. Going ahead obviously helped with that but that changed after the equaliser. They improved and we lacked a bit of rhythm. In the last part of the game, we should’ve been calmer in the last five or 10 minutes because we had some opportunities around the edge of their box but we never had the calmness to find the right pass.

on whether title winners deal with disappointing days…
Of course. If you keep your consistency then you have chance to do it. We are in a very good position with a lot of games to be played. Obviously you need to make sure you compete for every game. If we keep our run going then we will be near the top and will have a chance.
