Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has made it into WhoScored’s European team of the month of September, based majorly on the statistics they gather.

Whilst most side of the week and month style articles are based the opinion of the author, perhaps with a little stats used to back it up, WhoScored.com come up with a team based on the statistics alone.

According to The Daily Star, this month, Nacho Monreal has been selected for their team of the month, as seen below:

The team selected is the best possible starting eleven from top five European leagues: The English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1, Italian Serie A and the German Bundesliga. So, for Nacho Monreal to make it in is obviously an impressive feat, especially given he has played in so many minutes, yet managed to remain consistent throughout.

Overall, the Arsenal defender got a rating of 8.2 out of the maximum 10, which even made him the highest rated defender in the Europe XI team.

Nacho Monreav has been very brilliant recently as Arsenal managed to go without letting in a goal throught September. His goal-line clearance against West Bromwich Albion and several recoveries against Premier League Champions Chelsea were fans highlights.
