And it looks like the centre half failed his fitness test after he was missing from the training session.
In Laurent Koscielny’s absence, French defender Mathieu Debuchy was brought into the team to make up the figures.
Germany defender Sead Kolasinac took part in the training session after Arsene Wenger disclosed he was battling with ‘some problems’.
France international striker Olivier Giroud, who turned 31 years old today, was also among the players in training at Arsenal’s London Colney.
Germany international Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with a knee injury.
