Arsenal vs. Brighton: Match Preview, Team News, Predicted Lineup

Premier League giant Arsenal take on new boys Brighton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to overcome the UEFA Europa League

Premier League giant Arsenal take on new boys Brighton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to overcome the UEFA Europa League hangover and seal the maximum three points.

It’s the first time the Gunners have played a home game against Premier League newcomers Brighton since 1983. The North London club won 3-1 on the day, but that is not the first time the two teams have met ever since then.

The two sides have been drawn against each other twice in the English FA Cup with Wenger’s men winning 3-2 in both games, but the Arsenal manager will be hoping for a more straightforward game on Sunday.

Arsenal will be without German Mesut Ozil for the encounter, but the likes of French defender Laurent Koscielny, Nigerian international Alex Iwobi, and Sead Kolasinac should all be fit for selection.

Brighton will be without forward Tomer Hemed who starts a three-game ban for violent conduct. Brighton manager Chris Hughton will also be without former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell and Berem Kayal, but Murray and Baldock could return in time for the clash.

Predicted Lineup; Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka,

Mohamed Elneny, Sead Kolasinac, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette.
