Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is prepared to add to his international appearances when African giant Nigeria lock horns with former African Cup of Nations Champions Zambia in an important FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on October 7.
A source close to the country’s football house – Nigeria Football Federation has informed renowned Nigeria sports blog allnigeriasoccer.com that the Academy product of Hale End is among the players called up for the encounter against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
The Arsenal youngster is expected to be a part of the last set of players to arrive the national team’s camp in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, with the Gunners taking on English Premier League new boys Brighton & Hove at The Emirates on Sunday the 1st of October.
The Football Federation have taken note of that Premier League match and has told the former England Under 17 international ace to report for the National team Camp latest Monday the 2nd of October.
The 21-year-old winger had to pull out from September’s fixtures against reigning African champions Cameroon after sustaining an injury just before he was scheduled to fly to Nigeria to honour the match invitation.
The Nigerian scored his first goal for the National team against Zambia on October 9, last year.
