Arsene Wenger conceded on Thursday afternoon he may have no option but to cash in on star players Chilean Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil in the winter transfer window.
As things stand, the pair will be able to leave the Emirates for free, meaning the month of January will be Arsenal’s last chance to sell their two stars.
Alexis Sanchez has been strongly linked with several top clubs, among them rivals Manchester City and Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, is reported to have interested Manchester United, who are managed by his Jose Mourinho.
Earlier in the week, Mesut Ozil’s agent, Erkut Sogut, said talks with the Gunners were progressing pretty well.
The German could play at Watford, having returned to full training following a knee problem.
But Alexis Sanchez is due to be examined after playing in Chile’s 3-0 defeat to Brazil on Wednesday, which ended their World Cup qualifying hopes.
