Chilean Alexis Sanchez was named in Arsenal’s starting line-up for the clash with West Brom in the English Premier League this evening.
The Chile international forward was strongly linked with a transfer away from the North London club all summer window long but ended up remaining at the Emirates Stadium.
The game against West Brom is Alexis Sanchez’ first start of the League season in the Ebglish Premier League.
And Gunner’s boss Arsene Wenger explained his decision to give the 28-year-old an opportunity to impress against West Brom.
Talking to the world media before the fixture the Arsenal manager said: “He (Sanchez) looked in the last match against Doncaster (Rovers) that he is physically back in shape and he is ready to play again.
“After that he (Sanchez) is like everybody (every player) and it depends on the match.”
The French tactician also called on his team to show full concentration against a difficult and resilient West Brom team.
He stated: “We (Arsenal) have responded (pretty) well but it is down to (teams) consistency.
“This is a match we (Arsenal) need absolute concentration.”
The Gunners have had a sloww start to the League season, losing matches to Stoke City and Mersyside club Liverpool in their first five English Premier League games.
After tonight’s match Arsenal will turn their attention to the UEFA Europa League as they play BATE Borisov.
Alexis Sanchez was in brilliant form for the Gunners last season, scoring 30 goals and providing 19 assists across all competitions.
