Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated clearly that he is a big fan of the way Nigerian international Alex Iwobi plays but the youngster needs to work on his finishing in order to become a ‘top-class’ forward.
Arsene Wenger loves the way Alex Iwobi plays and has heaped praises on his mobility. However, the tactician also recognises that the youngster has a long way to go before he reaches his full potential.
This is the part of his game Iwobi has said he’s specially working on so his manager’s remarks are hardly going to come as a shock.
Since breaking into Arsenal’s senior team back in 2015/16, Alex Iwobi has only netted five Premier League goals and provided seven assists, which isn’t the best figure from a striker.
This campaign, Iwobi’s only played two Premier league matches and has been notably absent from Arsene Wenger’s regular starting line up. However, as Wenger says, this is because the forward is still young and learning fast to develop his skills.
While Alex Iwobi can be very sharp on the ball in and around the pitch, he’s not so gifted in front of goal.
Last season he created 26 chances, which looks good until you see Alexis Sanchez’s figure of 78.
