According to The Daily Mail, North London giant Arsenal have been placed on red alert regarding the future of Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil, after reports claimed that Serie A club Inter Milan are very keen on signing the 28-year-old later in January.

Talking about Mesut Ozil and his availability, Erick Thohir said that “He [Mesut Ozil] is surely one of those players we [Inter Milan] are looking at”.

Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal back in 2013 from Spanish La Liga Champions Real Madrid in a club-record fee and has impressed during his time at the Emirates Stadium, however the former Bayern Munich playmaker has been strongly criticised throughout his time at the club, with the German being slammed for his poor work-rate and lack of defensive responsibility on the pitch of play.

Should Mesut Ozil leave on a free transfer in the summer or in the winter for a lower fee, it’s come as a huge blow for Arsenal in the long term, as Mesut Ozil can prove to be a match changer more often than not.
