North London giant Arsenal find themselves in fifth place in the English Premier League log, as the international break draws to a close and we direct our attention on club football action. Arsene Wenger’s team have not set the world alight so far this campaign, but are still in touch with the top sides in England.
However, all that might change if they do not manage to hold onto their best legs in January. Chilean Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil will see their Arsenal deals expire this summer, and there is immense pressure piling on the North London club as the prospect of their two top players leaving is becoming a reality.
It is hard to fathom the impact such a blow could have on Wenger’s team, as they would need to spend huge sum of money to replace the two high profile players, and even this would be a tough task to find adequate replacements.
Should a side come in for either players later in January, it could be hard to reject.
When asked, French tactician Arsene Wenger admitted that it remains a big possibility that one or both players could leave the Emirates Stadium in January.
However, Arsene Wrnger was fast to point out that just because the two players currently don’t have contracts beyond next summer, they may not necessarily be leaving.
Nonetheless, this latest development will certainly peak the interest of suitors around Europe.
