Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is set to leave the Emirates on a free transfer when his contract expires over the summer, as per Sky Sports.
Welbeck joined the North London club in a £16 million deal from the Red Devils on the summer transfer deadline in 2014. The England striker so far with Arsenal, has netted 16 goals in 88 Premier League appearances, with his five goals in 28 appearances last season his best single season return.
With available options upfront for the Gunners, it’s believed Arsenal have no plans to offer the Englishman a new contract before it expires at the end of the season.
Welbeck is out of action for now as he’s currently nursing a long-term ankle injury and underwent two rounds of surgery in November, making him a doubt to make return this season, meaning his last outing may have be his final game in Gunners’ Whites and Red shirt.
