Fantastic news came from Mesut Ozil’s camp as regards his contract extension when the playmakers agent, Dr Erkut Sogut confirmed his client is looking to remain in England for 3 more years.
With less than 12 months remaining on his current deal, rumours continues over his future with reports linking the German to a number of top European clubs including Manchester United and FC Barcelona.
With his representative now hinting that negotiations are going well with the North London club, Mesut Ozil might be getting a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, the 28-year-old FIFA World Cup winner’s agent said:
“[Mesut] Ozil wants to play another two to three seasons in the [English] Premier League,” he said. “Our deals with Arsenal continue and negotiations are going in a positive way…”
However, a some fans have seen this statement by the agent as being ambiguous as it might also mean that a transfer to another English Premier League side is still on the cards with rivals Manchester United looking like a possible destination for the German international.
The Gunners signed Mesut Ozil from La Liga giant Real Madrid back in 2013 for a record transfer fee and he has made a huge impact with the club, winning the English FA cup in his first League season at the club.
