Arse Talks brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Werder Bremen and Germany right-back Clemen Fritz has revealed that he has spoken to Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker about a return to the club.

Mertesacker will be out of contract at the Emirates stadium this summer and so far it’s uncertain whether Arsenal are willing to offer the 32-year-old fresh terms in Arsenal.

There’ve been plenty reports claiming the German club interest in Mertesacker with also known to be keen, however, a return to Werder Bremen has been suggested as the most likely move.

The Bundesliga side club captain admitted that he has been in contact with the centre-back and feels it would be a great boost for Bremen if they secure the move for the defender back to the club which he left for Arsenal back in 2011.

“We have talked about [a potential return],” he told Bild. “Per would be a great addition to Werder – as a footballer and as a person.

“It would be a good thing for the club when Per would opt for Bremen.”
