French Star Dimitri Payet has been long linked with a move to Arsenal, and the player’s recent outburst that he wants to leave the Hammers stirred reports that he move to Arsenal was imminent.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League game against Swansea, Arsene Wenger has addressed the issue admitting that he hope the winger can rectify his issue.
The France international was the Hammers’ player of the year last season and Arsenal have been linked with a £30million move for the former Lille forward.
However, Wenger has appeared to rule out a move for Payet and instead says he hopes he resolves his issues with Slaven Bilic’s side.
‘The vibes you get from the outside are not very positive I must say,’ said Wenger.
‘I don’t know what’s really behind [the scenes] I just hope that West Ham and Payet can sort this out.
‘It looks very complicated. The boy is not known for this mentality. What is happening to him now only West Ham can explain that.’
