Arsenal chief Edu drove their ambitious attempt for Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior, it has been revealed.
UOL says Edu had contacted Real about the prospect of signing Vinicius but the report claims Arsenal‘s approach was rejected.
Real are not looking to sell the youngster, who was also being monitored by Paris Saint-Germain, as they are looking to develop the young striker.
However, while Vinicius has been involved in all three of Real’s opening La Liga matches his involvement in the games has gradually been reduced.
Although Arsenal were denied the chance of signing Vinicius from Real, not all was lost for Emery and Edu as the Gunners went on to seal a deal for winger Nicolas Pepe, who joined the north London club for £72m from Lille.
