North London giant Arsenal receive huge boost in race to secure the signature of £90million international star – potential replacement for German Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners have received a major boost in the race to bring in Monaco star midfielder Thomas Lemar.
As per reports by German outlet Kicker, Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have withdrawn from the race to sign the Frenchman.
The North London club came close to signing Lemar over the summer transfer window. Arsene Wenger’s side have a £90 million offer for the young midfielder accepted however, the Monaco star rejected the transfer.
The Daily Star claim that the Gunners have maintained their interest in the Frenchman and could make an approach for him in January.
Thomas Lemar is being seen as a replacement for either Chilean Alexis Sanchez or German Mesut Ozil.
Both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have less down nine months left on their deals with Arsenal.
The Chile international forward was close to completing a switch to Premier League leaders Manchester City on transfer deadline day however, the Gunners put a halt on the move after failing to sign Lemar.
