Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea summer target Kostas Manolas is prepared to have a £26million buyout clause included in his new deal at Italian Serie A club AS Roma.
The Greece international defender’s existing Roma current runs out at the end of next season – June 2019 and the defender is deep in negotiations over a new and improved contract terms.
Italian Serie A giant AS Roma want to keep hold of the defender at the club after he was strongly linked with a transfer to reigning English Premier League Champions Chelsea or Russian side Zenit St Petersburg in the recently shut summer transfer winmdow.
But, according to a report by Corriere dello Sport, the defende, Manolas’ new deal will include a buyout worth about £26million.
That latest development will be a massive boost for the likes of West London club Chelsea and Russian side Zenit, who remain keen on securing the services of the 26-year-old.
North London club Arsenal, who are long-term suitors of Manolas, could now also be forced to rekindle their interest in the defender.
With Germany international and club captain Per Mertesacker retiring at the end of the season, Manolas looks like a decent replacement for the outgoing defender.
