Chelsea has signed Arsenal target Ross Barkley. The former Everton attacker was unveiled on Friday as his new jersey number was also made public.
As reported by BBC Sport, Barkley, 24, joined the Blues in a £15million move as the forward brings an end to a 13-year spell with the Toffees having joined their youth ranks.
He played 179 games for the club, netting 27 goals, while he’s also gathered a total of 22 caps for England as he now looks to take the next step in his professional career for both Country and club.
Chelsea confirmed on Chelsea.com that the forward signed a five-and-a-half year contract with the Blues, while he was handed the No.8 shirt which means a lot to Blues faithfuls and takes on huge significant given Legendary Frank Lampard wore that shirt number during his career at the Bridge.
Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte will possibly be happy with the versatility that the England international attacking midfielder brings to the party at the Bridge as he can play in a lot of positions on the wings, through the middle or in a deeper midfield position to hand him a good chance to find a route into the Blues starting line-up.
