Arsene Wenger has given an update on Danny Welbeck’s injury and it’s a good one for all Arsenal faithfuls.
The Frenchman revealed that Danny Welbeck will be available for selection this weekendagainst Watford and admitted he was surprised at the rate in which he has recuperated
Arsene Wenger said yesterday via the club’s official website:
“He is available for selection again, he is a bit quicker than expected…”
The England international forward got injured in the game between Premier League Champions Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge when he sustained a groin problem and has not played since for the Gunners and missed out for the Three Lions during their last few FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
The 26-year-old forward will be hoping to return to full fitness fast and fight to get back into the Gunners starting XI so he can book his spot on the plane for Russia 2018 World Cup with England.
Welbeck has contributed three goals and provided one assist already in the English Premier League before his injury and will be hoping to increase that tally this weekend.
The Gunners travel to Watford on Saturday and will be hoping to make it another victory and close the space on the sides above us in the league.
