Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he holds no regrets about swapping Arsenal for their league rivals Manchester United in the winter of 2018.
This is likely to come as somewhat of a surprise to Arsenal supporters given his troubles at the Red Devils.
Following five goals in just under 50 matches for the Red Devils, Sanchez has joined Serie A side Inter Milan on loan for the remainder of the campaign as he bids to recapture his Gunners form.
At the time of this move, Alexis was approaching the end of his deal at the Emirates Stadium and was also drawing interest from Manchester City.
In hindsight, a transfer to the Etihad Stadium would have yielded two EPL titles as well as three major trophies – five more trophies than Chile international won with Manchester United.
Although, Sanchez insists he stands by his reasons for signing for the Premier League heavyweights.
“I’m very happy I went to Manchester United,” Alexis told the BBC. “I’ve always said that. It’s the club that’s won the most in England.”
“When I went to Arsenal it was fantastic – I was happy there – but United were growing at the time, they were buying players to win something. I wanted to join them and win everything. I don’t regret going there.”
