Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that England international Danny Welbeck has suffered a suspected hamstring problem after he limped off during Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday.
The forward had to be substituted in the second half at Vicarage Road as Arsenal let the lead slip away and ended up losing to Watford.
Danny Welbeck has struggled with a couple of injuries at North London since his transfer to the club from rivals Manchester United in September 2014.
It now seems as though the 26-year-old forward will be sidelined for a couple of weeks after sustaining a fresh muscular injury in Saturday’s match at Vicarage Road.
And Arsene Wenger disclosed after the match that Danny Welbeck had indeed sustained a suspected hamstring problem – although he does not yet know the extent of the injury.
Saturday’s loss left the Gunners nine points behind Manchester City in the English Premier League log and with it all to do if they are to challenge favourably for the Premier League title this campaign.
Arsenal will return to English Premier League action next weekend with an away trip to Goodison Park to play Everton as they try and return to winning ways in the Premier League.
