Arsenal have long been connected with a transfer for versatile Real Madrid attacking midfielder Lucas Vazquez, but he has taken it upon himself to show his commitment to the cause at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In an interview with Spanish radio Onda Cero, the winger discussed his commitment to the Champions League holders despite his recent lack of playing time.
It’s been rumoured that Vazquez was growing uncertain over his Real Madrid future. This was a consequence of Real manager Zinedine Zidane’s decision to play him only as a sporadic first-team player this term.
The Gunners were strongly linked with a transfer for the winger and reports has it that Vazquez himself was open to the switch. However, it looks like these statements were false, with the player committing his future to the Bernabeu club.
After tough period, he is starting to enjoy a more involved playing role under the French tactician and is evidently delighted with the way his career is at the moment.
Arsene Wenger’s team, as well as Merseyside outfit Liverpool, who were also linked with the player, will be forced now to look elsewhere for reinforcements in that position.
