Lucky Arsenal! Top Striker Turned Down Big Spending Paris Saint-Germain before joining Arsenal

Summer signing Alexandre Lacazette held transfer negotiations with French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain before signing for Arsenal this summer.

The 26-year-old forward joined the North Londoners this summer from Ligue 1 side Lyon for a fee that could increase to £52million.

Alexander Lacazette was coming off a brilliant 2016/17 League season that saw him net 36 goals for Lyon in 44 matches.

That good form attracted interest from PSG but the France striker says the lure of trying himself in the English Premier League persuaded him to join the Premier League club.

The striker has quickly established himself as a fan favourite with four goals in his seven opening English Premier League games.

However, Lacazette has yet to grab a goal away from the Emirates stadium and that is something the striker is keen to correct as he continues to get used to the physical demands of the English Premier League.

Lacazette is currently with France on international duty preparing for their last two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and then Belarus.

The France National team, who currently lead Group A by just a point ahead of Sweden National team, still have some work to do to secure a FIFA World Cup qualification.

But the Arsenal star is highly optimistic they have a lot of talented players to execute their tasks all the way next summer in Russia 2018.
