According to the Sun, Manchester City have a scared that they could lose out to French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain in the race for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, whose current contract at Arsenal runs out at the end of the season.

As per the Sun, the Chilean international forward is desperately keen to secure a transfer away from the north London club, with the forward set to be permitted to open talks with foreign suitors in January, as then his Arsenal contract will only have six months remaining.

This leaves Premier League giant Manchester City at a disadvantage, as they will have to hold on until the summer transfer window to negotiate with the 28-year-old winger, whereas French Ligue 1 side PSG will be able to open negotiations in January.

Pep Guardiola’s side failed with an approach for the player over the summer transfer window, with their £60million transfer deadline day for Arsenal’s Gunners winger falling through after the Emirates club couldn’t manage to bring in a replacement in time as reported by the Sun, with the Ligue 1 giant now prepared to take their interest to the next level, with PSG giants wanting the winger to partner summer signings Kylian Mbappe and Neymar upfront.
