Arse Talks brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
According to Metro, Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal have been handed a transfer boost in the race for Uruguayan and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.
The League 1 champions are said to be looking at all avenues in selling the South American centre-forward in next summer’s transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been a long-standing Arsenal target as he was also linked with a move to the Emirates last summer, it’s believed that the Uruguayan is running down his contract with the French club, which is said to expires in 2018.
The Blues were also linked with a move for Cavani over the summer, though PSG were never set to sell their hitman after losing Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United.
However, his new decision in running down his contract with the Le Parisiens means that Unai Emery’s side would be willing to cash in on him while they still can, with report from Spanish news outlet Spanish AS claiming that the clubs could get a boost in their pursuit of the forward at the end of this season.
Despite that, Arsene Wenger could still be willing to secure a move for Cavani due to unresolved issues up front at Arsenal, with Alexis Sanchez filling in there so far this season.
Sanchez is in fairness at the moment, well adapted to his new role, but many fans still believe Wenger still needs to bring in the natural centre-forward in attacking area, and Arsenal bid for the star could be ideal.
