“Not good enough” – Arsenal boss slams team for one important reason after scrappy win versus Sporting

ARSENAL boss Unai Emery is unhappy with his side’s sluggish start against Sporting after it took 77 minutes to break the deadlock.

The Gunners made it three wins out of three in the Europa League to all but confirm their place in the next round.

It is part of a new look Arsenal under Unai Emery, with 11 wins on the trot making people stand up and listen.

The Emirates outfit were not fancied for silverware at the beginning of the season but the Spaniard may be changing opinions after their impressive run.

Tonight was not their best display, but a rare start for Danny Welbeck saw the Englishman settle the match after an error from former Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates allowed him through on goal, where he made no mistake.

And Emery wants to see his team start better in the future.

When asked about Arsenal’s sluggish start, he said: “Each match there is a big opportunity to improve and one is [starting better]. We spoke about it before the match.

“The match, for the 90 minutes, there were different things happening tactically and individually.

“The first half is not clear for us, there was not a lot of chances. The second half step by step we imposed our job, our play to win this match,
