Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez, whose Arsenal future remains in doubt, looked to blank his manager before a training session at the club’s London Colney training ground on Wednesday.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who was performing his ritual of shaking each of his Arsenal players’ hands before putting them through their different paces, was acknowledged by Spaniard Nacho Monreal and German Mesut Ozil – but a short video revealed Sanchez apparently walking on by the manager.
UEFA competition regulations permit media to video record a segment of training sessions ahead of games and, with the Gunners set to play Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night, a lot of cameras were in place to record the action at London Colney training ground.
They saw Chilean Alexis Sanchez head on towards a set of his team-mates instead of approaching manager Arsene Wenger, though the French tactician did not offer his hand to his forward and appeared to say ‘I’ve already done [shook] you’.
Arsene Wenger’s habit of greeting each of his footballers and technical staff in turn has been a staple part of the Gunners life throughout the French tactican’s reign.
