German Mesut Ozil has taken to social media – Instagram to disclose that he is working very hard on his fitness levels as he tries to return to football action for the Gunners as soon as possible.
The playmaker has been sidelined with a knee problem in recent matches and he sat out the 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at The Emirates Stadium last weekend.
Mesut Ozil’s future at the North London club continues to be a relentless source of rumours after both he and Chilean Alexis Sanchez entered into the last 12 months of their deals at Arsenal.
However, the 28-year-old midfield maestro does not look to be letting that rumour distract him as he focuses on returning fully fit as soon as possible.
He posted a video on Instagram of himself using the bench press at Colney training ground last week on and wrote the caption: “Another day at the recovery office. #KeepPushing #gym.”
The FIFA World Cup winner will be hoping to return to full fitness and available for selection for Wenger’s team when they play Watford in their next English Premier League match at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Arsenal are currently fifth on the log and six points behind Manchester City after seven matches of the new season.
