ARSENAL defender Hector Bellerin has revealed he was given some very good advice by former manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger gifted the Spaniard his Arsenal debut in 2013 and was paramount to his development as the club’s first-choice right-back.
The Frenchman ended his 22-year-spell at the Gunners last season but Bellerin has since explained one piece of advice has stuck with him.
“The best bit of advice was to never lose my hunger,” he told YouTube channel FDFC.
“To always remember why I started playing football.
“Every single bit of advice he gave me was to improve my game and to improve as a person.”
The show’s host then jokes: “Wenger sounds like an easy man to get on with – Jose Mourinho take note.”
Bellerin flashes a surprised expression by raising his eyebrows at the subtle dig at the Manchester United manager.
The video emerged on the 22nd anniversary of Wenger’s first match in charge of the Gunners – a 2-0 win over Blackburn.
And fans have been quick to flock to the comments section to voice their opinion.
“Wenger seemed like a quality guy,” one wrote.
Another commented: “What a great memory.”
