Premier League side Arsenal have several injury worries ahead of their away clash against Watford on Saturday, with about seven players missing out on the weekend encounter.
German defender Shkodran Mustafi sustained an injury to his thigh during Germany’s victory over Azerbaijan on Sunday evening and looks set to be out of action for a number of weeks. About seven players could miss the clash.
Frenchman Laurent Koscielny, meanwhile, remains doubtful for the Watford clash on Saturday after a chronic tendinitis problem kept him out of Germany’s international duty.
Then there’s Englishman Calum Chambers, who has been out of action with a hip problem. An update has yet to be provided on his fitness.
The injury situation could force the Gunners into playing retiring Per Mertesacker and defender Rob Holding alongside Spaniard Nacho Monreal in the back three.
Watford have made a decent start to the English Premier League season and currently sit in eighth position, having only lost one of their opening seven matches. They represent a tricky away encounter for an Arsenal team who are just beginingstarting to find some form.
Elsewhere, there are still doubts about the fitness of Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil. The pair were expected to recover in time for the Watford game but remain doubts, according to 101 Great Goals.
