Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has confessed that his team face “a big setback” if star players Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil leave the North London club next year.
The two players are out of Arsenal contract at the end of the season and have shown no intent of agreeing new terms at the Emirates.
Chilean Alexis Sanchez is reportedly a £25million January transfer target for rivals Manchester City, while Mesut Ozil has been strongly linked with Manchester United and Serie A giant Inter Milan in recent days.
The Nigerian fears losing both stars, admitting that simply being given the opportunity to train with the talented forwards over the past couple of seasons has been an amazing experience for him.
“When they [Sanchez and Ozil] are [fully] fit [to play] they are unstoppable. They [Sanchez and Ozil] are both capable of changing a match or a season,” he informed The Sun. “They [Sanchez and Ozil] have a huge decision to make. But it would be a major setback to lose them [Sanchez and Ozil] because from the statistics one can see we [Arsenal] do need both stars, their assists and goals.
The Nigeria international has played 65 matches for the Gunners since breaking into the senior-team back in 2015.
