Saint-Etienne president Roland Romeyer has stressed that his club are under no pressure to cash in on William Saliba amid Arsenal’s transfer interest.
The north London club are on the hunt for a centre-back this summer and Unai Emery has identified William Saliba as a target along with Dan-Axel Zagadou and Joachim Andersen.
Arsenal had an offer of €23 million bid plus €7 million bonuses turned down by Saint-Etienne for Saliba, with the Ligue 1 side demanding at least €30 million for the 18-year-old.
There have also been rumours that the Gunners would be ready to loan William Saliba back to Saint-Etienne next campaign to sweeten a potential move.
However, it appears the Premier League giants will be unsuccessful in their chase of the defender after Saint-Etienne’s president brushed off speculation of a move.
