Barcelona will attempt to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan from Arsenal before the end of the January transfer market, according to reports.
The Spanish giants are in the market for a new forward following Luis Suarez’s knee injury, which will keep the player sidelined for around four months.
Aubameyang has already been connected with a move to Arsenal, while reports have claimed that the centre-forward has asked Mikel Arteta to leave the Gunners.
According to Goal, Blaugrana have made the signing of Aubameyang this priority before January is over.
The report claims that Blaugrana are hoping to convince the Gunners’ board to accept a loan deal which will run until the end of the term.
But instead of paying a sum to keep Aubameyang, Barcelona’s plan is to sign Inter attacker Lautaro Martinez.
It’s claimed that La Liga side’s offer ‘will likely be greeted with an angry response’ by the Gunners.
The Gunners are reportedly still hoping to convince Pierre-Emerick to sign a new contract.
