This is my plan for the January transfer window – Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has not only delivered his latest team news ahead of the Boxing day fixture against West Brom, he has revealed what he plans to do with the January transfer window.

We have been linked with a number of players but given the activities of the summer, Wenger is happy with the quality and quantity of players at his disposal.

‘Of course, because we have [Lucas] Perez, [Olivier] Giroud, [Danny] Welbeck, [Theo] Walcott, [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain and we have plenty of options offensively,’ Wenger said at his Friday press conference.

‘Defensively, we are not in the need at the moment.’

Wenger went on to explain the benefits of Ramsey’s return to the first-team going into the new year.

He added: ‘Ramsey’s back and you know his strengths. He’s efficient offensively, has a high level of activity and is a complete box-to-box player gives us options in the team when he plays.’

On whether he’s like a new signing, Wenger replied: ‘Yes, he’s played only two full games since start of last season.

‘It’s not too premature. He had some setbacks but hopefully he will be alright this time.’

  1. Wenger is aware that this is the last year of his contract at Arsenal. Arsenal went 12 seasons without wining the championship. The players he signed during the summer only Mustafi proved to be a first team player . Now Arsenal like all the past twelve years start climbing down in the second half of the season. Wenger has more the ten dead trees in his squad and still insisting not to get rid of them and not to buy a goal scoring machine a striker who can score 20+ goals a season and instead extending the contract of Oliver Giroud . Wenger is putting an end to his career at Arsenal by being too stubborn.
