Premier League giants Arsenal are in talks with La Liga side Sevilla over the possible acquisition of midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery worked with the France international before and looks interested in luring him to the Emirates Stadium but the €40m valuation looks to be too high for the North London club to pay for a 29-year-old player.
The creative midfielder, who was part of Les Blues FIFA World Cup winning team, is believed to be interested in the transfer to the Premier League club if the sides can agree a transfer fee.
N’Zonzi, who has had playing spells with both Blackburn and Stoke prior to his transfer to Spain, would be keen to play in England once again, whilst the prospect of linking up with his former manager also interests him.
The Spanish club are in no need to offload N’Zonzi, so it remains to be known if the Gunners are able to negotiate a reduced fee.
Breaking | Arsenal are actively seeking to negotiate Sevilla down from the €40m release clause & price that the Spanish side are demanding for Steven N'Zonzi, according to France Football.
