Arse Talks brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal have been linked with a couple of defender over the weekend with new report from Daily Star claiming that the Emirates outfit are still interested in signing Roma and Greek international Kosta Manolas.
The 25-year-old Greek defender was linked to Arsenal back in the summer, however, at the end, Arsenal were only able to secure the signing of Shkodran Musta from Valencia after Roma according to reports, refused to play ball with Arsenal.
However, if reports making the rounds in the Spanish tabloid are anything to go by, we should be expecting Arsene Wenger to secure the signing of the 25-year-old in January, as the report from the Spanish new outlet Sport cited by The Week claims the Frenchman “is considering a swoop for Manolas if Per Mertesacker leaves Arsenal next June”.
Mertesacker is currently sidelined till Christmas and have less than 12 months on his current contract with Arsenal. There are also report that says the ageing German could decide to carry with his career with Hannover.
Wenger has therefore marked the Greek defender as the man possible to replace the German although according to the Daily Star [via The Week] Barcelona’s Luis Enrique is also keen on signing the Greek blocker.
