After a huge cry from Arsenal fan base, Wenger bolstered every area of his team in the summer and this has left every member of the squad fighting a spot in the starting line-up of Arsenal.
New boy Lucas Perez has opened up on the competition for places at Arsenal and what he thinks of his striker team-mates at Arsenal.
Perez joined Arsenal from La Liga side Deportivo for £17.1million in August.
The 28-year-old has been out of action for the past month after picking up an ankle injury in the 2-0 EFL Cup win against Reading.
But he has returned to the Arsenal squad for tonight’s EFL Cup quarter-final against Southampton.
And he has now opened up on his fellow Gunners forwards.
“There is plenty of competition to get one spot in the line up, which is great for the team,” Perez told Arsenal Player.
“Not only the strikers are fighting for a place, but also defenders or midfielders. Our squad is hungry to play and you can see that in every training.
“I already knew Alexis very well, I’ve seen him play a lot for his club and country.
“He is quick, skilful on the ball and a great guy. He is very kind and I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope we can go on like this.
“Giroud is a real extrovert and funny guy. He has been really nice with me from the very first day. He is a great striker.
“He protects the ball with his body superbly and offers many solutions to his team-mates.
“Theo is a very well known player. I was hugely impressed by him. He is quick, takes on players and he is scoring many goals because he is very clinical when it comes to finishing.
“He is having a great season and that´s great for us as a team.”
