Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou as manager Unai Emery looks to strengthen his troublesome back-line in the summer.
The club only had the ninth-best defensive record in the EPL last season, conceding 51 goals – over twice as many as Liverpool and Manchester City – and Unai has made a new centre-half one of his top priorities.
The Gunners have already been connected with Sampdoria star Danish defender Joachim Anderson as well as 18-year-old Saint-Etienne ace William Saliba.
But now a new player has emerged, with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal are keen on trying to tempt Zagadou to the Emirates Stadium as they bid to reinforce their back-line.
The 20-year-old star made 15 starts in the German top-flight last season, though his place at die Borussen could be under threat following the return of Mats Hummels from league rivals Bayern Munich.
