Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will reportedly turn down Arsenal’s offer of an improved contract in favour of forcing a transfer to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The 28-year-old playmaker’s current Arsenal contract will run out at the end of the season, with rumour spreading to link him with a departure rather than contract renewal.
As per The Mirror, the Germany international midfield maestro has decided to exhaust his current contract, till the point he would become a free agent, and he is eyeing a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
It’s been reported that Ozil’s camp have made inquiries over a transfer to Manchester United, and the response is thought to be encouraging, as per the Mirror with Jose Mourinho tipped to try and persuade United hierarchy to sign Ozil to Manchester United if possible.
Given that Ozil will be able to join on a free, that would then permit them to focus all their resources on offering him a mouth-watering contract as he is reportedly pushing for a £250,000-weekly deal at Arsenal, as reported by the Mirror.
It’s also believed that Mesut Ozil is also wanted by Serie A giant Inter Milan, but an option to remain in the English Premier League and moving to a major club fighting for top honours could appeal him, alternative under the tutelage of his former Real Madrid manager.
