Arsenal have renewed their interest in landing defender Ruben Dias from SL Benfica this summer amid concerns that the French star Laurent Koscielny could head through the exit door, a recent report from The Mail claims.
Laurent has been an important figure at the heart of the Gunners’ defence over the past nine years, but the centre-back has recently refused to travel with the team for the pre-season campaign with the view to pursuing a new challenge elsewhere.
Amidst this, Arsenal are understood to be lining up a possible replacement and The Mail claims that Ruben has re-emerged as a transfer target for the north London outfit.
It’s added that the Gunners had compiled a scouting report on the centre-half earlier in the summer, but they were put off by the £54 million release clause present on the Portuguese’s contract.
