La Liga giants Barcelona are interested in Arsenal central defender Laurent Koscielny and Gunners’ league rivals Chelsea man, David Luiz, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Blaugrana are hoping to sign an experienced centre-back who will not break the bank once the January transfer market opens and the club’s hierarchy have drawn up a list of targets.
Both Laurent and David appear on it, along with 12 other names which include former West Ham United and Southampton Jose Fonte, according to a Spanish nationwide daily sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.
The Camp Nou club are short at the back with both France international Samuel Umtiti and ex-Arsenal captain and defender Thomas Vermaelen both currently injured.
Gerard Pique and summer arrival French centre-half Clement Lenglet have forged a solid partnership at centre-back thus far but Barcelona are now prepared to enter the transfer market in order to add some strength in depth.
