Real Madrid president Florentino Perez directly contacted Arsene Wenger about the managerial role at Santiago Bernabeu.
The 69-year-old manager has not been short of offers since leaving Arsenal at the end of last season and has revealed that he will accept a new job within the next few months.
‘I believe that [I’ll] start again on Jan. 1,’ the veteran boss told Bild last month. ‘I don’t know yet [where I’m headed]. I am rested, and I am ready to work again.’
On Monday evening, France Football claimed that AC Milan are in advanced talks with the former Arsenal boss and want him to replace Gennaro Gattuso.
But according to Paris United, Arsene Wenger has attracted strong interest from Real Madrid and has spoken to Florentino Perez about potentially replacing Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked last week.
