According to reports, Everton’s Lookman is on board to replace unsettled Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are keen on Lookman as they continue their ‘ultimate’ search for a perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who’s probably going to depart the North London as soon as manager Arsene Wenger and Steve Bould remove his shackles.
The 19-year-old forward only joined Merseyside club Everton from Charlton in January. However, Everton boss Ronald Koeman signed from Swansea, Gylfi Sigurdsson for a club transfer record of £40million plus add-ons over the last summer and has since been deploying the attacking ace in Lookman’s preferred left-wing role.
Therefore, it should not be too hard for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to convince the England youngster to return to the beautiful City of London.
Everton signed the England U-21 for £11million plus add-ons so he is expected to set the Gunners back around £15million if they are interested.
The youngster has started just two matches for Koeman’s team this season and has only appeared eight times in all competition since the transfer.
The Toffees’ star still has four years remaining on his current contract, however. So the Everton manager might decide to give him more playing opportunities in the near future.
