The young forward, who is only 17 years old, has yet to break into Ernesto Valverde’s senior team, but he has caught the ‘eagle’ eye of teams throughout Europe with a goal in three matches for Barcelona B team.
Abel Ruiz is under contract at the Camp Nou until the summer of 2019, but it has been claimed that Barcelona could face stiff battle to keep hold of the wonderkid as there is a £3million release clause included in the contract.
FC Barcelona could eventually tie him to a new deal without such a clause, but will have to act fast as the suitors are hovering around the teenager.
Reports states that both English sides Arsenal and Champions Chelsea have been in touch with the player’s agent with a view to secure a potential move.
The likes of Spaniard Cesc Fabregas and defender Hector Bellerin have left Camp Nou in search of first-team football at Arsenal at a tender age in the past, and there is an opportunity that Ruiz may consider doing just the same.
