According to reports, Arsenal have been closely monitoring Schalke midfielder, Leon Goretzka, and are allegedly ready to hand him a mouthwatering deal to entice him to the North London club.
Leon Goretzka, who’s current contract with Schalke runs out at the end of this season, has been heavily linked with top clubs like Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. However, the Gunners are allegedly prepared to try their luck by handing him a bumper pay contract.
As reported by the Mirror, Arsenal have been eyeing the 22-year-old of recent with one of Arsene Wenger’s top players said to have been after the Germany international midfielder for the last month… a bit creepy.
Spanish La Liga club FC Barcelona are currently seeing out their transfer ban, which means that the gunners could be in with a chance of signing Leon Goretzka if they are willing to spend the cash on his weekly wages.
Goretzka joined German Bundesliga side Schalke from VfL Bochum back in 2013 and has since gone on to play in 125 matches for their senior side, netting 16 goals and providing 13 assists in that time.
Last campaign, he scored eight goals and provided six assists. This season, he’s netted once and assisted once.
